The US administration is pressing Israel to prepare for the time after its forces complete its war goal of toppling Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his inner circle have indicated to the US that Israel has not yet come up with such a strategy. They also said Israel is more focused on the immediate goal of removing Hamas from power in Gaza. Besides the US, Israel’s National Unity party chair Benny Gantz and fellow faction member Gadi Eisenkot have also made similar calls.
