Israeli hostages released from Hamas captivity in Gaza

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was extended on Thursday despite the alleged deaths of the youngest children remaining in captivity. A group of ten more Israeli hostages, two dual Russian citizens and four ­Thais were handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza on Wednesday night. Three Israeli civilians were killed in a shooting attack in Jerusalem on Thursday morning. The two shooters were known to be affiliated with Hamas, raising fears that it could jeopardise the truce in the Gaza Strip. The attack took place just before at a crowded bus stop near the main exit from Jerusalem. According to Israeli police, two men pulled up in a car and opened fire on the crowd using an M-16 assault rifle and a handgun. One young woman was killed on the spot and eight wounded, two of whom, a 73-year-old rabbinical judge and a woman in her sixties, were declared dead in hospital. The judge was named as Elimelech Wasserman, from the city of Ashdod.
