Not long ago I was browsing YouTube, on my recommendations page I noticed a video from Steve Mould. The video was called “Wirtz pumps are really clever“. This video caught my eye because I had never heard of this type of water pump before. This inspired me to try and create one, not just to see if I could but I also wanted to know could this almost 250 year old pump be used to cool a CPU. After a bit of looking around I then learned the Wirtz pump shares a lot in common with another type of pump called the Coil Pump. Today we answer a question a century in the making, can a coil pump be used to cool a CPU.
