Winter Survival: Reimagining the Round Hut with Harsh Weather in Mind

I found the round hut I built a while back in sorry shape when I returned to Europe in the spring. I decided that instead of just renovating it, I should try reimagining it. Away went the chimney, and it was replaced with a wicker dome. This should shed water even when the debris turns to soil. It also received a clay fireplace with a proper stove pipe (even if it’s made the same clay) now that there was no way for the smoke to vent any longer. The roof was designed to drain right onto the walls, so something had to be devised to protect the clay stove pipe. The reed half roof should do a good job keeping it dry.
