The new material, called, the “Golden Veil,“ is relatively inexpensive, and will be used to “hide“ Chinese missiles, by making them look like large aircraft of course. This project, developed by a research team in north-west China, is a part of China’s ongoing endeavor to establish a diverse set of methods, for breaking through any air defense systems, even in the United States mainland. While China’s military posture is primarily defensive, some Chinese military experts suggest that China’s military capabilities, could serve as a deterrence, against foreign intervention in regional affairs, such as Taiwan, and the South China Sea. The “Golden Veil“ comprises of gold-plated fine metal threads that form a complex web. According to laboratory tests, this device, can significantly improve the radar cross-section of a flying target. It can, mimic large commercial aircraft, such as the Boeing 737, or, the Airbus A320, from certain angles of course. Using gradient-index optics, the United States technology helps make missiles appear like airplanes on radar screens. Additionally, military aircraft designed to be stealthy, like the F-22 fighter jet, and the B-2 bomber. These lenses, are removable, and enable the aircraft to become visible to civilian air traffic control, while still hiding their true radar signature, most of the time of course.
