“Time to get out of there“: Thousands on evacuation alert from BC wildfires in Cariboo region

British Columbia communities in the Cariboo are on edge Monday, due to the Antler Creek wildfire burning in the region. “The Antler Creek wildfire is the biggest enemy,“ Ed Coleman, Mayor of the District of Wells told Global News. On Sunday, 1,000 people in the District of Wells had to leave their homes, with 70 per cent of those being tourists, Coleman added, all from the Bowron Lake, Wells and Barkerville communities.
