GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Rangers () | Heading into Thanksgiving

The Pittsburgh Penguins matched up against the New York Rangers Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. This game started with an unfamiliar feeling to the Penguins, with the Rangers scoring first. The Penguins have scored first in 14 out of 17 games so far this season. After an early flurry of chances for the home team, Alexis Lafrenière went on a breakaway only a few minutes into the game and made the Penguins pay. Later in the period, the Penguins thought they scored their first of the contest, but unfortunately, the goal was challenged by the Rangers and disallowed due to the Penguins being offside. The 1st period ended 1-0 for the Rangers. Buzzing around the ice, the Penguins worked the puck, generating multiple chances, but not capitalizing on any of them in the 2nd. The game shifted in the 3rd and became much more physical, with both teams throwing big hits. Increasing that pace of play, the Penguins were given two power play opportunities.
