The Color of Rain - Oceans Above (single, 2023)

The Zwotte Kring collective is set to deliver another project of mind-warping modern black metal, in the form of The Colour of Rain, with the album Oceans Above, which releases through Void Wanderer Productions in full on 7th November. I am very proud to bring you the title track from the album, which demonstrates the elemental wrath and musical potency of this band, which features Devi of Teitan, Floris of Asgrauw, Schavot and Meslamtaea and the main man behind the music and lyrical concepts, Gerhans Meulenbeld. A three-pronged trident from the seas, Oceans Above is another chapter in the developing sub-genre of oceanic black metal. The ferocity of black metal, channelled through progressive passages, melded with a cosmic alchemy of Lovecraftian horrors. This track is at turns raging, surging, and pummelling with crashing force, drifting into serenity before whipping up into renewed thundering storms. The album comes adorned with a logo and more stunning artwork designed by Bruyneel Bram, who did the awesome Schavot album at the start of the year; this time depicting the terrors and fates that lurk the depths of the seas!
