Arcanist - Poseidonis (full album, 2021)

For our second feature of Dungeon Synth Sunday, we present the debut album by French dungeon synth band Arcanist. An incredibly rich synthesis of Berlin School kosmische, underpinned with a with fantasy dungeon narrative, creating a sound somewhere between Cluster and Corvus Neblus – Laus Schulze and Secret Stairways, that is at once of the ether and the earth. The album theme is filtered through a further layer of eeriness, with a heavy influence of American Weird Fiction movement of the early 20th Century, themed around the Poseidonis (Atlantis) Cycle of Californian by early 20th Century fantasy poet, writer and artist Clark Ashton Smith.
