A Tour of The Great Dollhouse of lady Lita de Ranitz
Miniaturist Journal 115. SmallI, smaller, big. ( Klein, kleiner, groots.) In a change to my schedule, I visited an exhibition of the Great Dollhouse of lady Lita de Ranitz, at the The Hague Historical Museum. It is one of my favourite dollhouses!

“The Great Dollhouse, one of Lita de Ranitz’s miniature marvels from her dollhouse collection, was equipped with all the modern conveniences. But this is not the only thing that makes her collection special: it actually tells a detailed story of The Hague in 1910.
In September 1910, a flag was raised on a house under construction in The Hague. It was no ordinary house, but a modern miniature villa built for lady Lita de Ranitz. This miniature villa, known as The Great Dollhouse, was equipped with different types of modern conveniences.
