2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato 👌 One Special Model with a Manual V6 Engine

In 2021, as part of the centenary celebrations for the collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Zagato, which began in 1921 with the TIPO G1, the Milanese Atelier chose to commemorate this important anniversary with the creation of a new model. The idea was to celebrate the current Alfa Romeo production of Giulia and Stelvio, together with the legendary 6-cylinder engine in its latest GTAm evolution with a two-door Coupé Zagato body in carbon fiber and a shortened wheelbase. The project immediately met with the interest of a German customer, selected from among Zagato collectors, with many Alfa Romeo in his garage including, in addition to a rare 8C Competizione, all the different models of the Alfa Romeo’s recent era. At the heart of the one-off Giulia coupe is a twin-turbo V6 bumped to GTAm spec, meaning it pumps out 533 horsepower (398 kilowatts) and 600 Newton-meters (442 pound-feet) of torque. Unlike the original GTAm sold only with an eight-speed automatic, power is routed to the wheels via the Quadrifoglio’s six-speed manual transmission. Zagato shortened the wheelbase and tweaked the overhangs of the Giorgio architecture, while upgrading the underpinnings to GTAm specification Zagato doesn’t make any performance claims for the one-off model, but we would expect similar metrics to the GTAm, with the sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) in the mid-three-second range and a quarter-mile time under 12 seconds. The unique model was photographed on the “La Pista” circuit in Arese, near the Alfa Romeo Museum, before being handed over to its owner, to round off an important year for Zagato and seal a collaboration that over the course of more than 100 years has given rise to more than 150 models of the highest collectors’ value. The Italian design house didn’t reveal the cost of the one-off Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato, although we expect it to be quite high. The model’s one-off nature, its bespoke body, and the extensive modifications to the Giulia underpinnings are more than enough to justify an extraordinary price tag, as with other highly collectible specials coming with Zagato’s signature.
