This video shows a step-by-step DIY popsicle stick catapult tutorial. I recently created a video showing how to make a cardboard castle block set so I wanted to make catapult which can attack this type castle. I also wanted to add wheels somehow.
I started to play around with some ideas and first came up with a prototype design that uses cardboard and popsicle sticks for the frame. The first prototype also didn’t have the best shooting power so I decided that I can improve on this. In the final design I used only popsicle sticks for the frame and mounted the rubber band more directly so that the shooting power was increased. I used baby food squeeze packet caps for the wheels which were the perfect size, was easy to glue to the axles and had some indentations on the surface that gave the wheels some character.
The axles were made from round sushi chopsticks which were also used for the shooting arm. The bucket was made from a bottle cap that allows it to shoot marbles, ping pong balls or eve
