Russia says ’emerging’ evidence of US behind Nord Stream blast at UN after year of fruitless probes

Russian envoy blames the US for Nord Stream explosions at UN Security Council meeting marking one-year anniversary. Russia reiterates the need for a transparent inquiry into the Nord Stream pipeline explosions on Sept 26, 2022. These pipelines carry Russian gas to Europe via Germany. A year ago, explosions damaged Nord Stream I and II in the Baltic Sea, cutting three of four underwater lines. Despite separate probes by Germany, Sweden, and Denmark, no concrete results have been released. Russia’s proposal for a joint inquiry has been rejected by the involved nations. China also urged relevant sides to work with Russia. US has been long denying any involvement, while Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh revealed a secret US-Norway operation to plant explosives, causing the pipeline damage. Japan and France also made their stances clear, acknowledging the magnitude of the incident. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
