“Work Song“ was recorded in 1958 on the album Them Dirty Blues Julian “Cannonball“ Adderley with his brother Nat Adderley. “Work Song“ remains a much played jazz standard and a classic recording of the hard bop era from what many consider to be the greatest year in jazz. Here I present to you, first, just the transcription with Cannonball’s playing, and then my own performance of it alongside him.
