Космодамиановская церковь была построена в 1864 г. в селе Павловка Оренбургского уезда Оренбургской епархии в ведении благочиния 3-го Павловского округа. Здание пришло в ветхость. Прихожанами вновь построена в 1909 г. и 13 декабря того же года освящена с благословения Преосвященного Иоакима Оренбургского и Тургайского. Церковь деревянная на каменном фундаменте с таковою же колокольней. Престолов один во имя святых безсребреников и чудотворцев Космы и Дамиана. По штату в ней священник и псаломщик. При церкви церковно- приходская школа, построена в 1888 г. церковная сторожка, построена в 1909 г. и каменный сарай, крытый листовым железом для помещения дров. Расстояния до церкви от консистории 25 верст, от Епархиального города 25 верст. Почтовый адрес церкви: Оренбургский уезд, село Павловка, Павловское волостное управление (выписка произведена иеромонахом Валентином (Коробовым) из клировых ведомостей за 1914 г. Фонд 173, Опись 9, Дело 1789). В сентябре 1997 г. приход начал возрождаться, но не на прежнем месте (с. Мужичья Павловка, где раньше находилась церковь, перенесено в другое место), а рядом, в пос. Каргала. Бывшее здание столовой перестроено под храм с колокольней. Храм освящен священническим чином г. по благословению Его Высокопреосвященства Высокопреосвященнейшего Валентина, митрополита Оренбургского и Бузулукского протоиереем Леонидом Антиповым.
