Travelling With Velvet (I Try It So You Don’t Have To)| Hand Embroidered Victorian Velvet Coat Diary

Walking Skirt Course: Prior Attire: Izabela’s version of this coat, made in a single day Follow Izabela on Instagram at @izabelapriorattire I’m eight weeks into my travelling sewing room experiment, and the velvet, paper pattern, and an enormous hand embroidery frame have successfully made it five and a half thousand miles or so into the journey. So far, so good! The backing fabric and velvet for the first section of my Victorian velvet coat are now on the frame, and God, I didn’t think it’d be this big a deal to get this step done. But that’s the story of most projects, right?
