Appearing on television for his year-end press conference on Thursday, Putin demanded Ukraine’s unconditional surrender, while calling for the “denazification of Ukraine“ as well as its “demilitarization.“ The Russian president gave a positive assessment of the war, saying that Russia had strengthened its defensive positions along the frontlines. He also claimed that Western support for Ukraine would soon dry up.
