Water Harp (Suikinkutsu) I built in my front garden during Covid 19! Take a listen!

This is another project I did while I was staying at home because of Covid 19. This is my new water harp, and I have been wanting to make one for years. If you haven’t heard of a water harp, it’s ok, nobody has heard of one. It’s a Japanese water feature that makes a very beautiful sound. The sound is made when water drops into an echo chamber made with an upsidedown pot. Google it, there’s a video on YouTube that explains it so well. The Japanese word for it is suikinkutsu. Last time I visited Japan in 2018, I visited 5 different water harps so I could try to figure out how to make one. If anyone watching this video ever finds a water harp anywhere in Japan, let me know where it is; I want to visit more!
