Countertenor John Holiday performs Billie Holiday’s Strange Fruit. . What a blessing it is to travel one more time around the sun! Though I’m not counting the years, I can tell you that I’m thankful and grateful. A year ago, I wouldn’t have ever imagined the many twists and turns that would come my way, yet, I know without them I wouldn’t have been able to get to the rainbow in my clouds. For my birthday, I’m choosing to focus on something that has always been dear to my heart - a renewal of sorts - using my platform to uplift the voices of the unheard and underrepresented. I count it a blessing that I can do that here and everywhere I go. I vow to do my best to usher in the light because I know it will drown out the darkness. What an incredible year of transition it’s been, and I can promise you that the best is yet to come! Thanks for being in my corner and for sharing your love with me. It does not go unnoticed.
