This is a short video showing gameplay from the Dragon 32 game “Phantom Slayer“ by Ken Kalish, released in 1982 for the Dragon and Coco (TRS-80) home computers.
Some consider this to be the very first single-player FPS, released nearly a full 10 years before Id’s Hovertank 3D and Catacomb 3D (1991). Depending on how you define the genre, of course.
