Viola da gamba making | Part 2 – making plans

In today’s part of the viola da gamba making series I’ll show you my process of making plans. Using the tracing paper sketches form the previous part I’ve made my own body and neck templates. Now I’m drawing a full scale model on millimeter paper with my custom dimensions and proportions. I’ve decided to replace the carved head with a scroll and cover the whole pegbox with relief carvings. Stay tuned for more.
