Street Fighter 1 (Arcade) England Stage 1: Ryu vs. Birdie

This game also debuts Birdie. Those who know him from Street Fighter Alpha must notice how different he looks here. In Alpha, he’s black, and says that he was sick and that made him look really pale for this game. That must’ve been a serious illness, yet that doesn’t keep him from trying to fight Ryu, here. Birdie is apparently named after a golfing team that means scoring one under par, or -1. Also, his punk mohawk is also supposed to be beak-shaped. At 0:52, how come most of these characters’ “defeated“ sprites have to look like I made them blind? And why is his portrait hair a different color from his sprite hair?
