Orca Attacks Great White Shark in South Africa - Why Sharks Are Afraid of Orcas

Most people think of sharks as the one and only apex predator of the ocean, and while this is true in a lot of the ocean, it’s not always the case. The Orca is smart, fast, strong, and used its social skills to work in groups, making it easy to hunt down whatever it wants. Recently off the Gansbaai coast in South Africa, a pod of Orcas has been stalking and hunting down great white sharks. Just a few weeks ago eight white sharks were found washed up on beaches, all with injuries from an Orca attack. This has been a developing story all throughout 2022, and its gotten so out of hand that great whits have practically disappeared from the area.
