DARK GOTHIC AMBIENT MUSIC | Meet the Blood Countess | Elizabeth Báthory

Elizabeth Báthory was a Hungarian noblewoman and purported serial killer. After reports of the countess’s cruelties accumulated in the kingdom, she was put on trial. Báthory and some of her henchmen were accused of torturing and murdering numerous girls and women. The Blood Countess, as she was soon called, was said to have bathed in the blood of her tortured victims to protect herself against aging. Convicted of multiple murder in 1611, Báthory was imprisoned in her castle until the end of her life. Statements that she was walled up alive in one of her tower rooms are not documented.
