I initially moved to the country of Georgia, and lived in the capital city Tbilisi. However, I ended up in an annoying situation: because I couldn’t return to Russia and I didn’t have residency of any foreign country, I couldn’t apply for any EU visa. Turns out that a Russian passport can be a huge roadblock when it comes to immigration, especially after all the sanctions and restrictions for Russians that have been introduced. I’ve talked about my journey on this channel, and in 2023 I finally found relocation help with Reelo and started working on my EU visa. We chose Portugal and its Digital nomad visa.
