Horse Art Painting Time-Lapse || Realistic Horse Oil Painting

This oil painting of a horse’s head took a solid month to paint. Watch the entire process unfold in a 90 second time-lapse film. Produced in oil on canvas, this painting is of the retired racing legend Kris whom I met at stud a few years ago. He had a unique presence about him and was really interesting to encounter and paint. I have painted a large number of horses over the last 20 years and learned a great deal about how to capture their personality on canvas. Hopefully this oil painting time-lapse will give you an insight into the technique that I’ve found works for me when it comes to horse art.
