Fresh clashes erupted in France on Tuesday between protesters and police as tens of thousands vented their anger against President Emmanuel Macron’s pension reform. The movement presents the worst crisis of his second term. The day of nationwide protests and strikes called by unions is the tenth since mid-January against the law, which includes raising the retirement age from 62 to 64. After scenes of high violence last Thursday in Paris and over the weekend, French interior minister Gérald Darmanin warned there could be “fire and blood“.
