Russia: Destroyers and Minesweepers involved in Baltic Fleet drills

A Nastoichivy Sovremenny Class Destroyer (Project 956 Sarych) and a Yevgenya-class Minesweeper (Project 1258 Korund) were among the Baltic Fleet vessels to take to the Baltic Sea, Wednesday, as part of the drills that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered on Monday. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu is reported to have said that the purpose of the drills is to assess performance and to ensure a readiness in case of being faced with “new challenges and threats.“ -------------------------------------
