Skyline (2010) - Valiant Desperate Attempt to Take Down the Alien Mothership

I don’t get it - why this movie never got more exposure and recognition?! It’s absolutely fantastic! Over time, we did receive part two and recently part three, but sadly the quality went down with each new one. Don’t get me wrong, they are all highly watchable and I still recommend even the last one from 2020 that is a garbage in comparison to this one, but it does continue the story further. Coming back to this one, I saw this when it came out and it blew me away! I expected low or mid-budget decent sci-fi to kill my evening with, and got and absolute AAA title with stunning special effects, likable characters and superb story. I mean, this is war of the worlds out of nowhere! You live your normal life and suddenly some strange lights are falling down from the skies. I loved the initial mystery, and the fact that once you looked into the blue light, it would take over your body. Very satisfying and surprisingly excellent movie in every aspect considering this was indeed done with low/mid budget. Stunning achievement for the production team! My hat’s off!. This clip is my favorite one of the many actions scenes in the movie. I still have chills running down my spine as the “wounded“ last bomber-plane is trying his best in it’s last effort to give humanity some hope - whilst being desperately protected by rapidly dwindling escort planes. I actually audibly cheered the first time I saw this, once he managed to get that bastard! Too bad it wasn’t enough. I loved every second, do not miss out!
