🇫🇷 The “Patriotic medaillion“ Trench lighter by Unknown [1910s] 🇫🇷 #lighter #collection #history

This gorgeous trench lighter was made more than 100 years ago in France, probably a small batch from an unknown workshop. However the craftmanship is remarkable, one side features a medallion with a famous sculpture we can still visit near the Arc de Triomphe (“Le Départ des volontaires“ by François Rude) and the second side shows another medallion with the portrait of Marianne (“La Patrie“ by Andrieu Bertrand)
