Holi. Festival of Colors. 2014

Holi is a festival in India that celebrates the triumph of good over evil and the beginning of spring, and commemorates several other Hindu stories. One person I met told me it’s the day in India when your enemies become your friends. Then he aggressively smothered my face in color and gave me three hugs. I’ve always wanted to celebrate Holi in India. So this year, just before I came back to the US, I took an overnight train to Vrindivan, the city of Krishna’s childhood, where pilgrims travel from all o
