A Day in Marigot, French Saint Martin 🇫🇷

A visit to Marigot, the capital of the French Caribbean territory of Saint Martin 🏝 The island of Saint Martin is divided into 2 separate territories. Dutch Sint Maarten is on the South side of the island and French Saint Martin is on the North side. It’s the only place where the Netherlands and France have a border. We were visiting Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch part, on our Caribbean cruise aboard the MSC Seaview. We decided to see the French side of the island which took us to Marigot. We booked our shore excursion with @msccruises. The town is quite small with only about 5000 people living there. There’s a nice harbour in Marigot Bay and a compact central area which is nice for a ramble. There’s cafes, restaurants and a small market. Fort St Louis overlooks Marigot and if you can face the climb, has amazing views over Marigot Bay and Saint Martin. The scene in Speed 2 where the boat hits the island was filmed in Marigot. Although most cruise ships dock in Philipsburg on the Dutch side, Marigot is not far and well worth a visit.
