How to make Ramen Eggs EASY! - Ajitsuke Tamago

Ramen eggs are probably one of the most iconic toppings to go with ramen. The luscious, jammy center, the dense, chewy white, and the balanced, savory flavor all combine to make the perfect ramen topping. If you think ramen eggs are something you can only get at an authentic ramen-ya, think again! With just a few easy steps, you can make the most delicious ramen eggs you’ve ever tasted in your own kitchen. Oh, and even if you’re not feeling makin some ramen, this recipe includes a pretty handy guide on soft boiling eggs. I tried out a couple of different methods, and settled on one that I think is the best— It’s easy to follow and produces the most consistent results. Follow me on Instagram @doublecooked for some sneak peeks on our next video and some extra goodies on our recipes! ▬ Contents of this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Intro — 0:00 Marinade — 0:35 Soft-Boiled Eggs — 2:46 Marinating Eggs — 5:36 Serving/Cutting — 7:27 Outro — 8:08 ▬ Recipes ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Marinade • 200 mL / 1 Cup - Water/Stock • 50 g / ¼ Cup - Sugar • 100 mL / ½ Cup - Soy Sauce • 100 mL / ½ Cup - Mirin • 50 mL / ¼ Cup - Sake • 50 mL / ¼ Cup - Dark Soy Sauce • 25 mL / 2 Tbsp - Rice Wine Vinegar • 3 Cloves - Garlic, smashed and peeled • 2-inch Piece - Ginger, unpeeled, sliced into ¼ inches • 1 Piece - Dried Chili For Marinade: 1. Bring all the ingredients to a boil so the sugar dissolves completely. 2. Let cool completely and reserve. Soft Boiled Eggs • 6 Eggs (Cold) • 3 Qts Water For Eggs 1. In a saucepan, bring the water up to a boil. 2. Gently ladle in the eggs, cover, and adjust the heat to a low simmer. 3. Let simmer for 6½ Minutes (Side Note) The metric and English measurements for the marinade are not equivalent but instead follow the same ratio. I did this so folks using English measurements don’t have to do weirdly specific measurements, like Cups. So if you go by cups and tablespoons, you’ll end up with more marinade than the metric version.
