“Crossroads“ - Eugene Toh (A Dialogue for Frame Drum and Darbuka)

My first published composition containing ideas learnt in the study of the frame drum and darbuka since 2016. A big thank you to the inspirational Yshai Afterman for all the guidance in my exploration of the field. The challenging lesson materials have all contributed to the techniques and phrases used in this composition. Thanks also goes to all my other teachers, including Sri D Rajagopal, for many years of tutelage in mridangam and kanjira. The study of Carnatic percussion has also been a major influence in my music making.
