Renowned pianist Chucho Valdès praises the way he fuses Afro-Cuban music with jazz, flamenco, and other styles. Outside of the latin scene Michael Olivera has built a glorious career as well, working with the likes of Quincy Jones, Sting, Tomatito, and Yonathan Avishai. In The Cuban Jazz Syndicate he forms a unity with no less than six other Cuban virtuosos: a true latin jazz spectacle! Michael Olivera learned everything about Cuban music at the National School of Art in Havana. He played with the most important musicians on the island and traveled all over the world.
