The US has unveiled a new hypersonic spy plane concept, seen as the successor to the Cold War Era SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. This experimental design is intended to carry various payloads to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The $334 million contract also notes that Leidos shall work at the Wright-Patterson Air Base and other potential testing sites. The project is expected to be completed by October 2028 as part of the classified Mayhem program.
