GAME RECAP: Penguins at Devils () | Nedeljkovic Starts Sixth Straight Game

After a short trip down the road, the Pittsburgh Penguins made their third stop on the road trip to face off against the New Jersey Devils. Alex Nedeljkovic started in net for the sixth straight match-up. Erik Karlsson scored the first goal of the game on a wrist shot from the point bouncing off a defender’s skate and into the net. With 17 seconds left in the 1st period, Timo Meier evened the score on a powerplay goal. The 2nd period was all Devils. Curtis Lazar and Jesper Bratt both added to the Devils lead. Starting the 3rd with a score of 3-1, the Penguins had a steep hill to climb but managed to diminish the Devil’s lead. Sidney Crosby scored a powerplay goal on the back door. A minute later Evgeni Malkin tipped Jack St. Ivany’s shot from the point to tie the game. With time ticking down, the Penguins made a final press on the Devils. Rickard Rakell scored the go-ahead goal by redirecting a shot from Marcus Pettersson. Now in the lead, Pittsburgh added to the goal difference. Evgeni Malkin scored
