Larry the Downing Street cat remains unfazed by UK’s political earthquake

Even amid a political earthquake in UK after the 2024 general elections, Larry the Downing Street cat remains unfazed. UK’s ‘Chief mouser’ is now set to share the office with UK’s 6th Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Larry has been a resident in the seat of British power since 2011. The 10 Downing Street’s ’Chief Mouser’ was recruited by former British PM David Cameron in 2011 to get rid of mice. Larry then went on to serve under PMs Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak. On July 5, his latest housemate, Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, took up office having won a landslide electoral victory. This time Larry might soon have some company as Starmer already has a cat named JoJo. JoJo too is expected to join Starmer when he takes up residence in the street.
