Synthesis of 3,5-Dimethylpyrazole

In this video I follow the procedure in Vogel’s practical organic chemistry on the synthesis of 3,5-dimethylpyrazole by the condensation of hydrazine with acetylacetone. Correction: When I listed the melting point range for the product from the chloroform extraction I said 105 to 1-O-10 C when I meant 105-110 C
