Дальневосточная Песня - Song Of The Far Eastern Army

WITH RUSSIAN, ROMANIZED RUSSIAN, AND ENGLISH CAPTION Дальневосточная Песня, Song of the Far Eastern Army, is one of those obscure Soviet songs from the pre-WWII era. The history of this specific song is rather interesting. The English version of says it written in honour of Zhukov’s 1939 Battles of Khalkhin Gol against the invading Japanese. This is somewhat but not completely true. The song first originated shortly after the 1929 Sino-Soviet conflict following the Chinese Eastern Railway Incident (Конфликт на Китайско-Восточной железной дороге). Wikipedia provides a detailed account of the short conflict, but basically a young local Chinese warlord forcibly seized the Soviet-controlled CER in Manchuria in the name of Chinese patriotism and sovereignty, only to find the might of Vasily Blyukher’s Special Red Banner Far Eastern Army (Особая Краснознамённая Дальневосточная армия) crushing in on him.
