Captain Tom Moore saluted by army as he completes 100th lap raising more than £12 million for NHS

A 99-year-old Second World War veteran has raised more than £12m for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden using a zimmer frame. Captain Tom Moore, who turns 100 on April 30, wanted to complete the challenge at his home in Bedfordshire before his birthday to support medics on the frontline the coronavirus crisis, who he says are “national heroes“.
