Repair DAMAGED Cardboard Compacting Auger drive shaft | Machining & Welding

In this video we are repairing a damaged auger drive shaft off a cardboard compacting machine. The shaft on the auger drive has been badly damaged from the bearing locking up. To repair this we need to set that part up in our lathe and machine out the damaged shaft material to prep for welding. We then set up the shaft on our rotator and weld with ER70S-6 mild steel MIG wire. The auger drive shaft is then back in the lathe to finish machining the weld down to spec.
