LIVE: Milan’s May Day protesters march against EXPO network

Self-proclaimed anti-poverty activists will demonstrate through the centre of Milan on May 1, using International Worker’s Day to rally against the 2015 Expo Milan, the mass exhibition platform which is expected to draw some 20 million visitors over a 6 month period. Kicking off the demonstration on the exhibition platform’s opening day, the protesters hope to highlight the alleged superfluous consumerism of the event, while decrying poverty, austerity policies, and animal cruelty in Italy.
