Pokémon in Latin! Gen 1 Kanto Pokédex entries translated into Latin (all starters)

We all love Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, but have you ever heard of Bulbicerta, Ambustamandra, and Aestudo? Welcome to the ancient Roman world of Pokémon, with the first nine entries of the Gen 1 Pokédex presented as a medieval bestiary right in time for the Pokémon 25th anniversary! This is part of a project of mine to translate every single Kanto Pokémon name into Classical Latin. Join me in the coming months as I reveal all 151 Gen 1 Pokémon with fun and duly translated Latin names. My beautiful and talented girlfriend Livnat did the backgrounds for the video, really making those great Ken Sugimori illustrations pop out of that medieval-style backdrop, so huge thanks to her. Subscribe to see ancient lit and other high culture vids every Monday, along with classic English readings, pop culture and other surprising stuff on Friday! Please consider supporting me on Patreon. You’ll get bonus content, early access, and even custom readings, and I genuinely appreciate all the support.
