Before mine shafts had electricity, miners wore calcium carbide lamps on their helmets to light the darkness. Craig Beals from Beals Science finds a Carbide Miner’s Lamp at his grandma’s house that hasn’t been lit since 1938, give or take a few years! He uses science, some carbide, and acetylene gas to get the miners lantern working again and bring history back to life!
