Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja and artist Giancarlo Neri (“The Writer”, Hampstead Heath, London 2005) teamed up on October 17th to create an opera of light and sound at Alberto Burri’s “Grande Cretto”, the largest permanent land artwork in Europe. The work was built on the ruins of the village of Gibelina between 1985 and 1989. Gibellina was totally destroyed by a violent earthquake in 1968.
