Sirocco the Kakapo is coming to Maungatautari from 19th August to 26 September 2012

He’s been billed as a living legend and a rockstar. New Zealand’s first official spokesbird has more than 11,000 fans on facebook and commands his own seat on an aeroplane! Critically endangered, he is one of only 126 Kakapo left in the world. DOC is flying him direct to Hamilton for a special six week assignment on the Maunga. His visit will help raise awareness for the Kakapo Recovery programme and for our own vision - Kakapo will once again call the Maunga home.
