“The Foreign Lands of Love“ is a well-known song in Greece and Cyprus, performed here by two ancient lyres and an electric upright bass. Its lyrics talk about the pains of living away from your home and how the distance can become an unbearable weight for two separated lovers.
The melody is composed by Giorgos Kalogirou with the original title in Greek: “Η ξενιτιά του έρωτα“ (or “Στου Κύκκου τα Βουνά“).
It is performed by Thanasis Kleopas (the Wandering Melodist) on a LUTHIEROS ancient lyre and vocals, Theodore Koumartzis on a LUTHIEROS Lyre of Hermes, and Jordan Koumartzis on a LUTHIEROS Electric Upright Bass.
