The Yemeni Civil War is a multilateral conflict that began in late 2014 and has no end in sight. This war is primarily between the Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi-led government and the Houthi armed movement, but it also involves supporters and allies. Both sides claim to be the official government of Yemen, and the conflict is ongoing with the massive funding of arms from the United States and Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led coalition wants to take back Hodeida and its port city, believing it will provide more military leverage in the fight against the Houthis-Saleh forces. It also hopes that the war will prevent Iran from establishing a permanent foothold in Yemen and prevent the Houthis from establishing a separate militia like Hezbollah in Lebanon.
