Item title reads - Newsbriefs from the Middle East. M/S of . (Royal Air Force) camp in the desert. A man removes the ’Officers Mess’ sign and replaces it with Pilots’ Mess’. M/S of the pilots sat around, others come up and they shake hands. Commissioned and non-commissioned pilots now meet on common ground. Various shots of them drinking and socialising. M/S of ’Tailors’ sign in the desert, an officer walks up to a man sat at a sewing machine and asks him about alterations. The tailor measures the man around the waist and writes the results down in a book. He sits down at his machine again. M/S of a palm tree, the camera pans down to blacksmith at work. M/S as men go into a tent, one man takes his helmet off and looks lovingly at the picture of the film star he has got stuck inside. The camera pans across the pictures in the soldiers’ upturned helmets, they include Myrna Loy and Mae West. One soldier takes his cap off to scratch his head revealing his picture. M/S of men fillin
